la selección in El Mundo Magazine, part II

Ok I lied, I love this article so much I’ve forged ahead to bring you the rest.

The continuation of this post, with David Silva and Joan Capdevila.  I never noticed that David has freckles!  And I love his eyes.  I’ve always had a weak spot for him, and if he comes to Madrid, I’ll be so happy!  Does Capdevila have highlights?  And in the picture, he loves gel as much as Cristiano Ronaldo!

David Silva

1.  What is your first memory of a World Cup? A classic game, the quarterfinal in the U.S. World Cup of 1994.

2.  And which goal do you remember the best? The goal that Goicoechea scored in that World Cup against Germany that beat Illgner…

3.  What book or music will you bring along in your suitcase? I don’t know yet, I’ll decide when I’m packing my suitcase…

4.  Who will go with you? My family.

5.  What is your dream final? As long as Spain is in it, I don’t care.

6.  We’ve come down to penalties and it’s your turn, how will you take it? Pufffff, you have to see what kind of moment it’ll be to know how to take it…

7.  And if we win, what crazy thing will you do? Hahaha, if we win the World Cup?  Anything!

8.  What will cause you to cry more, winning or losing the final? I think losing.

9.  And if we don’t go past the quarterfinals…? I’ll have a lot of regret, but what can you do?  We’ll aim for the next one…

10.  Which of the following will give us more indigestion: Swiss cheese, Chilean empanadas or Honduran yucca? (Smiles).  I hope none of them, I hope they all go down well.

11.  Are you surprised that the multimillion football business brought the World Cup to South Africa? I’m not sure, all countries want to host the World Cup, and I suppose that it’ll be good for the economy of whoever is the host.

12.  What do you know about Durban? If I’m sincere?  Absolutely nothing.

13.  Before the debut, abstinence or going crazy? What do you think?  What a question…  [he didn’t answer it though!!]

14.  Who or what would you give a red card to? To all that cause hurt.

15.  When was the last time you felt uncomfortable, and why? I don’t remember, I try to make sure that doesn’t happen.

16.  Who or what would you like to score a goal against? Only goalkeepers.

17.  For who or what would you dive into the deep end for? (the same phrase means to dive on the field as well, in the penalty area) On the field, to win.

18.  You’ve taken the microphone from Reina.  “Camarero…” (Emphatically).  No, never.  I wouldn’t even think about doing that…

19.  You have to dance, which type would you choose? Flamenco, without a doubt.  I’m very Spanish…

20.  Have you won the final on Playstation? Hahaha, I haven’t done that, and it’s better that I don’t, because I’m bad at la Play.

Joan Capdevila

1.  What is your first memory of a World Cup? Salvadore Schillaci’s goals in Italy ’90.  He came from the second division and was the top goalscorer of the tournament.

2.  And which goal do you remember the best? Maradona’s goal against England was the best.

3.  What book or music will you bring along in your suitcase? Everything, but in terms of music I always bring something from Barricada.

4.  Who will go with you? Right now, no one.

5.  What is your dream final? One that we are in.

6.  We’ve come down to penalties and it’s your turn, how will you take it? I would try to kick it to score.

7.  And if we win, what crazy thing will you do? Buahhhh, I’m capable of kissing the king on the mouth.

8.  What will cause you to cry more, winning or losing the final? Losing.

9.  And if we don’t go past the quarterfinals…? Well we’ll return very disappointed.

10.  Which of the following will give us more indigestion: Swiss cheese, Chilean empanadas or Honduran yucca? I hope none of them.

11.  Are you surprised that the multimillion football business brought the World Cup to South Africa? I like it.  I think all countries deserve to have the opportunity to organize something like this.

12.  What do you know about Durban? Only that it’s on the coast and that we’re going to play there.

13.  Before the debut, abstinence or going crazy? For these things, whatever is needed for each person.

14.  Who or what would you give a red card to? To racists.

15.  When was the last time you felt uncomfortable, and why? Mmmm, in terms of off the field, I don’t know what to say to you.  And on the field, as a defender, I’m the one that tries to make others feel uncomfortable…

16.  Who or what would you like to score a goal against? Against violence.

17.  For who or what would you dive into the deep end for? (the same phrase means to dive on the field as well, in the penalty area) For my teammates.

18.  You’ve taken the microphone from Reina.  “Camarero…” Haha… Camareroooo, una de pipas pal pájaro… Piiipaspalpájaro…. Piiipaspalpájaro.

19.  You have to dance, which type would you choose? Flamenco!

20.  Have you won the final on Playstation? I don’t play very much, I prefer to experience these things and finals in person…
