suerte La Rojita!

Another last minute baja in La Rojita:  David de Gea, the starting goalkeeper, has been ruled out for tonight’s game with pain in his right quadriceps.  Tomás Mejías from Real Madrid Castilla was called up to replace him, although it appears that Diego Mariño will start in the goal.

The team held a light session this morning before playing tonight’s game, which kicks off at 20:30h at the Pedro Escartín in Guadalajara.

The starting line-up is as follows:  Diego Mariño; Montoya, Domínguez, Víctor Ruiz, Dídac; Javi (!!!) Martínez (!!!), Rubén Pérez, Ander Herrera, Parejo, Capel and Bojan.

Even though this is a friendly, it’s an important game because La Rojita only has this match and another friendly against Belarus before the Euro kicks off in June, where a spot in the 2012 Olympics is also at stake.  There is another friendly scheduled against France in March, but it is expected that the team will be filled with the next generation of U-21 players, those who will begin to play at that level starting in September.

  1. Just saw a video of Javi Martinez on, hope he has a great game today and scores a goal!!! he’s very handsome and very MANLY, like Joan, like Carles, like Luis Figo… he’s of the type that gets better and better with age, so in his mature years he will blossom into a fantastic footballer and a super attractive man :))

  2. Una, it might be a stupid question, but does Alvaro Morata play for La Seleccion??
Thanks for sharing everything with us!

  3. Oh nooo, I love Daveehd (well, who doesn’t). Hope he gets well very soon.
Good luck you to the little red fury!
