quotes of the day – Xavi

Xavi spoke to radio program “Al Primer Toque” yesterday.

On the World Cup, he said:

The World Cup was the greatest thing, it was amazing.  I’m not going to lie.  It makes me proud to play for the Spanish national team.  We had a great time, we’re a group of friends and we enjoyed it a lot.  Of course I’d like to make it to the World Cup in Brazil, but I’d be 34 years old by that time…

And on his two national team coaches:

Vicente del Bosque is the most humane person I’ve ever seen in the world of football.  Luis Aragonés is amazing as a coach.  He deserves a monument.  He’s been under-appreciated by Spanish football for his bad relationship – in quotation marks – with the press, but there’s no footballer or person who knows him that has anything bad to say about him.

  2. Happy birthday, beautiful man!

  3. Feliz cumple Xavi! IMO, a 34 year old Xavi will still be miles ahead of any other midfielder 10 years his junior. Barring any injuries, he should play in Brazil in 2014.
