Ballon d’Or voting

Captain Iker has already cast his vote for the Ballon d’Or:  he’s chose Cristiano Ronaldo, Leo Messi and Arjen Robben (remember, he can’t vote for anyone from his own country, so that means no Xavi and no Iniesta).  Meanwhile, it transpired that Vicente del Bosque’s votes (he had previously said he voted for two players who play in the Liga and one German) went to Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Schweinsteiger.

  1. una who votes in the ballon? only captains and coaches, or other players too?

  2. Cris and Messi are the best individuals (I’m not saying they are no teamplayers – but you can tell they always stick out of the collective). Therefore they would both deserve it (I couldn’t choose between them anyway).
So, although I would be darn happy to finally see a Spaniard lifting that award, it is way more important to know, that our selección definitely is the best team at the moment, in the world.

  3. Are the 3 votes equally weighted, or is it ranked 1-2-3 / 3pts, 2pts, 1pt? I tried to google for it and couldn’t find anything. Has this been mentioned in any of the papers?

(I’m mainly curious about the order the names are listed in — Iker has Cris first and Leo second, and VDB the other way around. Wondering if people are made to forcerank, or just name 3 names they may admire?)
