Premios Príncipe de Asturias: the fashions

Some of the boys arrived in Oviedo already in their suits, while others waited until they were in the Hotel Reconquista in Oviedo to change.  Joan wore another purple shirt (his favorite color?), Juanín looked like a professor, and Carlos looked like he was ready to head to the golf course.  Meanwhile, both Fernando and Javi did casual extremely well, minus Fernando’s designer manbag (minus points for Fernando for both wearing a manbag, and wearing a manbag from that design house).

For the awards ceremony, the players all wore suits.  And they all looked fantastic, because that’s what La Roja does.

Some thoughts on the suits: don’t like Iker’s light gray suit.  It was also a bit ill-fitting, and I don’t get the thing he has in his pocket – it looks like an extra tie, folded over.  Xavi’s suit is very shiny, and reminds me of Pep.  They also look a bit too snug around the thighs (not a bad thing, just not appropriate for this occasion).  I do like the color combination of Carlos’ suit and tie, but Sergio’s western-inspired shirt and tie do not get the unamadridista seal of approval.  I like Javi’s purple tie and Vicente’s red one (for La Roja?) but not Fernando’s striped one.  And both Sergio and Jesús Navas went for very tight and tapered pants.

And I liked how when they posed for photographers, the majority of them stood like they do when they’re forming a wall.  Guess they’re so used to standing like that!
