good luck to La Rojita too!

The U-21 team will also play tonight, against Croatia in the return leg of their Euro 2011 qualifying playoff.  They had beaten Croatia 2-1 in Burgos on Saturday, which means that tonight’s game means everything.

Yesterday, they traveled to Croatia.  And even famous football players have to wait around in the airport!

From the U-21 camp, Juan Mata sent a message of support to former club and country teammate David Villa, saying that “you can’t doubt Villa.  I don’t understand those types of comments.  I’m sure he’s going to score a lot of goals with Barça.  He’s scored 15 0r 20 each year since he entered the first division and I’m sure he’s going to score even more this year.

And Sergio Busquets, playing with the big boys, said in his press conference that returning to the U-21 team was something that he contemplated: Javi Martínez, Juan Mata and I offered to help the U-21 team because we thought it would be good for everyone.  It was up to the coaches and the Federation after that… It wasn’t to be but I would have liked to help them and I wish them all the luck in the world… Hopefully we’ll be in the Olympic Games.  Teammates such as Xavi have told me that it’s an unforgettable experience and it’s one that everyone would like to play.”

  1. Aww I’m already in love with la Rojita! But I love la Roja even more!

  2. La Rojita and La Roja love!

  3. Roja Rojita Roja… it could be a song! Love them all so much – not least because it means the big boys’ team will be in very capable hands (feet?) for a long while yet!
