Real Madrid honors its world champions

Before the jornada 2 game against Osasuna, which was also Real Madrid’s home debut for the 2010-11 season, the club honored the five players who partook in bringing home the World Cup for Spain this summer. The four musketeers + Iker (how I LONG to write five musketeers) were called onto the field one by one before the game to receive the applause of the Bernabéu. After the game, Florentino Pérez presented each one with a replica of the statue that stands at the entrance of the locker room, a statue of Sotero Aranguren and Alberto Machimbarrena (two club legends who both died young), although in the video, it looks like there was only one statue and each one posed with that one.
This meant that Raúl Albiol had to put on his kit especially for this act, because he’s injured and unable to play. He subsequently watched the game from the stands. Oh well, the consolation is that he got to have Álvaro’s hand on his ass during the photo op. And wow, Iker’s knees are so much more pale than those of his teammates. It’s also surprising that Sergio’s the only one with his shirt tucked in…
And here are the boys receiving the statues, in the order of my favorite to least favorite outfit. Actually, there is only one non-favorite outfit, since it was a tight race between the first four outfits. The favorite outfit is on a surprising person – Sergio – and the A-team all tie for second place among them, which of course means there was only one outfit that I didn’t like too much. But you knew that already, didn’t you?

P.S. – If the clubs you support honor their World Cup players like this or in a similar fashion, let me know and I’ll write about it here!

And the dreaded murse also makes an appearance….
Xabi is looking very fine without the beard!
In the video, it looked to be more like a laptop bag, which is the only reason why I didn’t mention it!
Hahahaha Alvaro, hands to yourself PLEASE! and I like Sergio’s shirt tucked in, it leaves the downstairs exposed..*ahem* where are my manners? ;)
And I’m not surprised by Sexio’s delish outfit, what can I say, the man’s dashing!(These days) hehe. In fact, they all look great here. Lol you don’t even have to mention that Iker’s on the fashion no-no list. But in a weird way, it’s part of his charm to wear ugly clothing..I guess :p
“I like Sergio’s shirt tucked in, it leaves the downstairs exposed..*ahem* where are my manners?”–LMAO! I think you once righted me when I apologized for my “forwardness” in a comment, so I’ll do the same for you…when commenting on anything SEXIO…LEAVE YOUR MANNERS AT THE DOOR!!! ;)
Maisouuun! Where have you been?? Have you any idea how many lusty comments I’ve made about Sergio?! Hahah and I wasn’t sure if the readers of con la roja were used to such passionate descriptions, as our “admiration” *wink wink* of Sexio is usually displayed on the RM blog :D
Oh! What was I thinking?! I’ve lost count of how many lusty comments are posted by the Official Sexio Appreciation Club! The “admiration” must be going to my head ;) NOT COMPLAINING!!!!
Iker doesn’t look too bad! it could be worse.
He just has another bag. (I hope its a camera bag.)
“…Álvaro’s hand on his ass…”
rotfl!! oh una :)
haha I thought the same, actually I had to read it twice….lol…. what a consolation! :D
Iker’s shirt–I am completely blanking on the name of the company that makes it, but recognize the little dachshund on it as an Italian, and specifically Neapolitan, label that Cannavaro models for. So maybe Canna gave it to him?
And Xabi? Grow the beard back!
OMG I need to know where Iker got that shirt. I have a dachshund and I would love to get my husband a polo like that. Any idea on the designer?
And yes, I agree Xabi needs to ditch the razor.
It’s the logo of an Italian brand called Harmont & Blaine.
Finally! I expected it for the SBT already and already thought they “forgot” about it!
Sergio looks really great!! WOW his outfits of late are classy! Is he taking lessons from Xabi? And can Iker attend them too? Talking about Xabi, I love his outfit there! =)
I am relishing every second of Sergio’s fashion makeover, I tell you. Solid, tight tees + non-fugly denim = definite win. He needs to wear that more often. (Although the sweater makes him look a little bit pijo… can’t decide whether that’s good or bad at this point.)
Iker’s knees make me laugh. Of course, he’s a good bit paler than the rest of them in the face as well, so it’s not too surprising. Perhaps he can be our very own gusiluz?
Hahaha, yeah– the sweater over the shoulders reminds me of ridiculously preppy boys where I’m from (New England), which makes me laugh because his personality is the absolute opposite of that. But he looks so good anyways. Only Sergio :)
I’ve seen quite a few pics where he does the sweater-around-the-shoulders thing, so I’m assuming he occasionally attempts to dress as a “pijo sevillano” (I’m not really acquainted with the Madrid variety, but I hear they’re much worse!). But that’s not a complaint, just a comment. It actually looks good on him. Possibly because he’s the furthest thing from “preppy”, ever.
I was too darn busy staring at that gorgeous arm to even notice the sweater at first. As long as it’s plain and black, we won’t have much to worry about. My mind can’t even fathom the range of colors and materials fabricated into one hypothetical sweater owned by Sergio before he became Sexio.
I guess that before “Sexio” he was:
S-lap myself silly with a fish at the sight of seeing one of his horrible outfits-ergio.
Haha the arm is of course what attracted my eyes first. I approve of any and all future outfits involving fitted white tees. (Sweater or not.) Yum!
Keep up the good work, “Sexio”! :-D
Ok had me almost in tears lol –“S-lap myself silly with a fish at the sight of seeing one of his horrible outfits-ergio.”
And the sweater might not be as plain as it looks….there looks like theres something shiny on his shoulder…..
I noticed Arbeloa had his hand on Xabi´s ass during a training session before the Argentina match. It was where everyone was coupled up and Silva running into Villa´s arms, and you can see Arbeloa and Xabi watching them.
“Raúl Albiol had to put on his kit especially for this act, because he’s injured and unable to play. ”
LOL!! he wasn’t even put his shinguard on (as well as Arbeloa).
i love that these guys are so emotional, its unique
lololol at alvaros hand on rauls bum
oohlala sergio, xabi (with or without beard baby, still lookin good),iker and raul, you are all fiiine
