but will they keep their word this time?
Let’s hope Spain wins the World Cup… because I really want to find out what’s in those envelopes!

Marca has, as they did two years ago at the Eurocopa, gotten the players to write down something they promise to fulfill should Spain win the World Cup. The envelopes will be opened and the secrets revealed on July 12 only if Spain lifts the World Cup trophy.
What do you wish the players to do?
But we really shouldn’t hold our breaths, because, if I remember correctly, most of the players did not fulfill their Eurocopa promises. I don’t think any of the hair alterations occurred, and Güiza definitely has not married Nuria Bermúdez. Below are the 2008 promises. I think Marca should make them do these AND whatever they’ve promised this year, if Spain wins. I hope there are no repeat promises!
– Albiol promised to get a tattoo of the Eurocopa.
– Marchena and Aragonés both promised to do the Camino de Santiago.
– Xavi and Iniesta promised to completely shave their heads.
– Cazorla promised to dye his hair to whatever color Marca desired.
– Sergio Ramos promised to shave his head AND get a “fashion” hairstyle [isn’t his hairstyle “fashion” to begin with?]
Keep reading for the rest of the promises!
– Arbeloa and Fernando Navarro promised to shave their heads AND dye their hair red and yellow like the flag of Spain when it grew out.
– Pepe promised to sing the song “A Mi Manera” by Siempre Así in public.
– Andrés Palop promised to spend the 2008-09 season playing with gloves that have the names of his national team teammates written on them.
– Xabi promised to invite all of his teammates to eat at elBulli, which he considers the best restaurant in the world.
– Capdevila promised to sing and dance like Chikilicuatre (although he asked that he have time to practice first) [I would pay to see that].
– Dani Güiza promised to marry Nuria Bermúdez [ha. ha. Now they’re embroiled in a legal dispute.]
– Cesc promised to get drunk and invite his teammates out to eat [maybe he can split the bill with Xabi?].
– De La Red promised to grow and wear a goatee for two weeks.
Maybe only Villa, Sergio García, Silva and Torres made good on their promises. Villa promised to celebrate with the fans, while Sergio García, Torres and Silva promised to celebrate with their friends and families. Or the cases of Iker and Puyol, who didn’t make a promise, but a prediction – that Spain would win the Eurocopa.
Then we have Juanito and Marcos Senna. The former predicted that Spain would win the final with his header, while Senna simply wrote that he didn’t have time to think about what he would do and didn’t know what to say.

Do you know if Marca has released the World Cup promises? If so, what were they? I fear I may have missed them
